This Indenture made this ninth day of September in the year one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight between John Reeves of the State of Tennessee and County of Maury of the one part and William Dodson of the state and County aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum too hundred Dollars in hand paid to the said John Reeves hath bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents Doth bargain sell and convey unto the said William Dodson a certain tract or parcel of land situate and lying in the State of Tennessee and County of Maury on the watters of Snow Creek of Duck Rover beginning at a sugartree and fern beech on the military line thence north 60 poles to a stake and beech on John Lockleants South line thence west 25 poles to ? white walnut thence North 90 poles to a beech thence west 150 poles to ? beech thence South to John North East corner and with his last Boundary line 150 poles in all to a black ash on the military line thence east with said line to the beginning it being a part of a survey granted to the state of N Carolina to B for 640 acres by grant 2031 and contains by estimation 2 acres be the same more or less to have and to hold the above described land and bargained premises with all the appertainenances thereunto belonging to the said John Rieves the only proper use and behoof of him the said William Dodson his heirs and assigns forever and the said John Rieves doth hereby promise covenant and agree to and with the said Wm Dodson his heirs and assigns that the said John Rieves his heirs executors and administrators shall and will at all times warrant and forever defend the above described land and premises to the said William Dodson his heirs and assigns forever against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever whereby the same may be affected or incumbered contrary to the true intent and meaning of this ?.
