In the name of God amen I Thomas Reavis of Henry County being weak in body but of sounds & perfect mind and memory considering the uncertainty of this mortal life blessed be almighty God for the same do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner & form following that is to say for as much as my perishable property to be sold by my executors agreable to law as will satisfy all my just debts and the balance of my estate both real and personal to remain in full possession of my beloved wife Elizabeth Reavis during her natural life or widowhood at the expiration of either for my executors to sell the balance of the above mentioned estate agreeable to the Law and divide the proceeds of my estate Equally amongst my lawful heirs to wit John M Reavis Saml B Reavis Thomas C Reavis Lewis W. Reavis Henry W Reavis Lucy A J Reavis Margaret Reavis Elizabeth G Reavis James B Reavis & William F Reavis I hereby appoint Samul B Reavis John Manley & Col William Porter Jnr sole executors of this my last will and testament and lastly is my requeest that Margaret Janes Elizabeth William to be schooled before they become of age in proportion to the balance of my children that has been schooled heretofore to be paid out of my estate by my executors I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made In witness whereoff I have hereunto set my hand affoixed my seal this 18th day of May 1829Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence }Thomas Reavis (LS)
