15 July 1830
Tobias Reeves of the County of Bedford and State of Tennessee of the one part and John Donaway of the County and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and fifty dollars to me in hand paid by the said Donaway the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained sold delivered conveyed & confirmed unto the said Donaway his heirs & assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county aforesaid & on both sides of Duck river. Beginning at a black walnut & white oak William Newsom’s South east corner Running west thirty ½ poles & a link to an oak & two box Elders thence South crossing Duck river in all 209 ½ poles to a stake thence east 30 ½ poles to the beginning containing by estimation forty acres. To have & to hold the aforesaid land & bargained premises unto him the said John Donaway his heirs & assigns forever and the said Tobias Reeves for himself his heirs and assigns executors & administrators & assigns for himself his heirs &c do warrant & forever defend the aforesaid land & bargained premises unto the aforesaid Donaway & clear from the claim or claims of all & every person or persons whatsoever claiming the same. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the day & date above written.
