Transcript

This Indenture made & Entered into this 9th day of December 1830 between Lewis Newsom of the one part & Isham Reeves of the other both of the County of Bedford & State of Tennessee Witnesseth that the said Lewis Newsom hath this day Bargained & Sold unto Isham Reeves one certain tract or parcel of land for the valuable consideration of the sum of three hundred Dollars to him the said Lewis Newsom in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and him the said Isham Reeves forever exonerated and acquitted at being that part devised to the said Lewis by his Father’s will Beginning at a Sycamore in the water edge corner of Lot No. 2 running south one hundred & thirty six poles to a cedar? And sugartree thence east thirty two one fourth poles to a rock stake cherry tree & Mulbury thence North one hundred & forty three poles to a seader (sic) stake on the Bank of the river thence down the meanders of the same to the beginning - Containing thirty and a half acres to have and to hold the before sited tract or parcel of land unto the said Isham and his heirs forever & I the said Lewis Newsom self my heirs Executors and administrators do will & truly warrant & defend the right & title of the above land to Isham Reeves his heirs executors or administrators against the lawful claim of all and my person whatever. In testimony whereof I the said Lewis Newsom have this day above written set my hand & seal
