George W Rives      } Registered the 2nd October 1833

This Indenture made and entered into this 22nd day of August in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and thirty three between Daniel Leatherman of the County of Giles & State of Tennessee of the one part and George W Rives of Lincoln County & State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Daniel Leatherman as aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the aforesaid George W. Rives the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained sold, aliened conveyed and confirmed unto the said George W Rives a certain tract or parcel of land, lying, being and situate in the County of Giles & State of Tennessee on the east side of Bradshaws Creek and bounded as follows towit, Beginning at a beech four and a half poles North of John Alsups North West corner, running thence North, four degrees west, sixty poles to a beech, thence North thirty two degrees east, forty eight poles to a sugar tree & black ash thence North twenty one degrees east forty six poles to a large Poplar stump & stake corner, thence south fifty eight degrees east eighty poles to a beech thence south ten poles to a stake thence east two hundred and eighty two poles to a large white oak in the east boundary line thence south five and a half degrees east with said line seventy four poles to a long Hickory & White oak, thence west two hundred and ninety poles to a Poplar and dogwood thence south ten poles to a red bud thence North eighty nine degrees west fifty one poles to a stake in a lane thence south seventy eight degrees west, forty six poles to the beginning containing two hundred and two acres be the same more or less To have and to hold, the aforesaid tract or parcel of land with all and singular the rights profits emoluments hereditaments and appurtenances of in and to the same or in any wise thereunto belonging or appertaining to the same To the only proper use of him the said George W. Rives & his heirs or assigns forever. And the said Daniel Leatherman as aforesaid for himself his heirs and administrators doth covenant and agree to and with the said George W Rives his heirs and assigns that the before recited land he will warrant and forever defend unto him the said George W. Rives his heirs and assigns forever against the right title claim or demand of all and every other person or manner of Persons Whatever claiming the same in law or equity. In testimony whereof the said Daniel Leatherman hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal this day and date first above written

State of Tennessee Giles County Court August term 1833
Personally appeared in open court, on the 22nd day of August 1833, Daniel Leatherman who acknowledged the within deed of conveyance to George W Rives to be his act and deed for the purpose therein contained and was thereupon ordered to be certified for registration. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 25th day of September 1833
