Transcript

In the name of God Amen I Samuel Reeve of the town of Aurelius in the County of Cayuga and State of New York, being of sound mind, memory and understanding, do hereby make, publish and declare my Last Will and Testament in manner following.
First I will and bequeath unto my wife Sally during her natural life all the lands and real estate of which I shall die seized, and all the personal property which I shall possess after the payment of my debts and funeral charges.
Second I will and bequeath unto my daughter Sally two hundred dollars, and to each of her children living at my deceased twenty five dollars to be paid to them as they severally become of age, and in case of their deceased or any of them, the survivor or survivors to take their portion.
Third To my sons J. Parker Reeve and Philip H. Reeve they each having received advances, I give to each the further sum of ten dollars.
Fourth To my sons Samuel and William after the decease of my said wife, I give the farm on which I now reside, which I purchased of Benjamin Saunders, and also another piece of land which I purchased of Abner Saunders and also another piece of land which I bought of Phineas L. Woodruff, in the proportion of two to one, namely two parts to William and one to Samuel and I will and direct that in case either should wish to sell he shall give to the other the first offer to purchase the same and in case such other shall not wish to become the purchaser, then in that case he may sell the same to such other person as he shall deem proper and I also give to my said sons Samuel and William after the decease of my said wife all the residue of my personal property, excepting one bed and bedding and her wearing apparel, my said sons Samuel and William to share the personal property in the proportion of three to two, as follows two parts to Samuel and three parts to William.
Fifth. The bed and bedding and waring apparel above excepted to be given and so I direct to my daughter Sally.
I hereby revoke all former wills by me made. And I do hereby nominate and appoint my wife Sally executrix of my Last Will and Testament, and Doctor Joseph Clary of Mentz in Cayuga County and Thomas Bell of Amelius in said County executors of this my Last Will and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 7th day of June in the year of our Lord 1836.
