Transcript

This Indenture made this the twenty second day of October, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty six between Thomas Reeve of the County of Columbia and state of Georgia of the one part, and Stephen Drane of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said Thomas Reeve for and in consideration of the sum of Two Thousand Dollars to him in hand paid by the said Stephen Drane, at and before the signing, sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained sold and conveyed, and do by these presents grant bargain, sell and convey unto the said Stephen Drane his heirs and assigns, All that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County and State aforesaid, on the waters of the Big Kiokee Creek, containing by estimation One Thousand two hundred and thirty five acres of land (reserving one acre square around the family Grave yard) be the same more or less, said tract or parcel of land consisting of the following grant to wit, one tract land originally granted to James Hylier for two hundred acres, one tract originally granted to John Reeve for One hundred and fifty acres, one tract originally granted to Peter Qualls for One hundred acres, one tract originally granted to John Reeve for one hundred and thirty seven and a half acres of land, also part of a Two hundred acre tract of land originally granted to Philip Upton for two hundred acres, and also a part of a tract of land originally granted to James Donnelly and also part of a tract of land originally granted to Isaac Fuller, reference being had to the plat hereunto annexed shall and well more fully appear. To have and to hold said tract or parcel of land unto him the said Stephen Drane his heirs and assigns. Together with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee simple. And the said Thomas Reeve for himself his heirs executors & Administrators, the aforesaid bargained premises, shall and will warrant and forever defend the same unto him the said Stephen Drane his heirs and assigns and against the claim of himself, themselves and against the claim of all other persons whatever.
