Transcription
In the name of God Amen. I Jonathan Reeve of Prince Wm County, and State of Virginia, being sick and weak, in Body, but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be to Almighty God for the same and calling to mind the mortality of the Body and Knowing that it is appointed for all men to die and feeling desirous previous to my departure to dispose of all my worldly Estate where with God has blessed me ~ I do therefore make, ordain, constitute and appoint this my last Will and Testament, in words & form following viz:In the first place my desire is that all my just debts be paid by my Friend Mr. James W. Ransdell; whom I appoint my Executor. In the second place, I give and bequeath to my beloved Friend Miss Randall out of the proceeds of my Estate, a good, and competent support for, and during her life.
In the third and last place I give and Bequeath to my highly respected Friend Mr. James W. Ransdell aforesaid and his Heirs forever the whole of my Estate of every description, both Real and personal, Ratifying and confirming this my last will & Testament
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 20th May eighteen hundred & thirty seven.

At a Court of Quarterly Sessions held for Prince William County the 5th day of June 1837. This last will and testament of Jonathan Reeve dec.d was proved by the oaths of John P. Roach, Henry A. Banon and Philip Warden three of the witnesses thereto, and is ordered to be recorded. And, on the motion of James W. Ransdell the Executor therein named, who made oath thereto, and together with Charles Huntor his Security entered into, and acknowledged their bond in the penalty of $9,000 conditioned as the law directs, certificate is granted him the said James W Ransdell for obtaining a probate of the said Will in due form.
