Transcript

I Martha Reeve of the town of Salem and State of New Jersey do make and publish this my last will and testament - I will and bequeath to my beloved daughter Millicent Reeve, the whole of my property which principally consists of household goods &c &c except a bedstead bedding and mahogany sofa; which I will and bequeath to my beloved son Joseph Reeve, accompanied with an injunction not to sell give away or other wise dispose of the said bedstead bedding or sofa but and with the consent and advice of his sister Millicent Reeve - In witness whereof I Martha Reeve testatress have to this my will written on one sheet of paper set my hand & seal this 8th day of Eighth Month in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two

Francis Doran One of the witnesses of the within will being duly affirmed did declare and say that he saw Martha Reeve the testatrix in the within will named sign and seal the same and heard her publish pronounce and declare the within instrument to be her last will and testament and at the doing thereof the said testatrix was of sound and disposing mind and memory as far as he knows and as he verily believes and that William W Doran the other subscribing evidence was present at the same time and signed his name as witness to the said will together with this deponent and in the presence of the testatrix
