The State of South Carolina FairfieldIn the Name of God Amen.
I William Rives of the State and District aforesaid, being of Sound and disposing mind and memory do make constitute and ordain the following as my last will and testament to wit.
Item 1. It is my will that my body be burried in a decent manner and that my funeral expenses be depayed out of my estate.
Item 2d. I will and device to my beloved Sister Patience Poarch and the heirs of her body forever, being in the district aforesaid all the proceeds of my estate, when Sold and collected by my executor.
Item 3d. It is also my will and desire, that this money and my notes, which I hold, to go to her and her heirs and for their contracts and non other so long as they exist.
And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint George W. Ashford as Executor of this my last Will and testament revoking and annulling all others by me made,
In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this the twelfth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three
