State of North Carolina, Wake County, February 20th, 1847, I Mark Grady of the County and State aforesaid for and in consideration of the following debts due Buckner Ray, have Trusted William J. Reaves (sic Reavis) him a certain parcel of property to secure the debts, consisting of Three bonds, first of the amount Forty Dollars at interest from the 15th August, 1845 - One other for Seventy five dollars at interest from the 1st January, 1846 - One other for forty five dollars interest from the 5th December 1847, - I the said Mark Grady do make William J. Reaves (sic Reavis) Trustee to the following property to secure the said Buckner Ray of the above debts, Two Head of horses, to wit, one gray mare, one bay mare, two colts, Six head of cattle, one two horse wagon & gear, corn and fodder, and also the pending crop to dispose of to the use of the above debts, this 20th of February 1847.
