In The name of God Amen I Kizziah Reaves of the State of North Carolina and county of Johnston being of Sound mind and memory thanks be to almighty God for the same but calling to mine the mortality of my boddy knowing that it is appointed once for all persons to die I do constitute make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in the following manner and form principally & first of all I recommend my soul unto the hands of God that gave it and my boddy I recommend to the earth to be decently burried at the discretion of my Executors herein after named and as touching such worldly estates it hath pleased almighty god to bless me with in this life do give and dispose of in manner following.
1.s my will and desire is that my Just debts if any & burial expences be paid
2.n I Give unto my beloved Sons & daughters namely William Reaves, Asher Reaves, Sally wife of Starling Mossingill. Civil E. wife of John Q. Adams, Susan wife of Moses Johnson Lydia M. wife of Alfred Johnson Emily Reaves Ransom B Reaves & Louisa Reaves all my Estate consisting of Negroes Dorcus Mary &(Silery) all my Stock of horses hogs & cattle & all my house and kitchen furniture Cart & crop all personale Estate of any kind that I may die _ and of & all debts that may be due me my will & desire is that my Executors herein after named Shall sell on a credit of Six months all the above named property & equally divide the proceeds among my Sons and daughters above named to them and their heirs forever Lastly I do hereby nominate & appoint my son Asher Reaves & son in law Starling Mossingill my Executors to this my last will and testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal This 20th of April 1847.
