Transcript

The last Will and Testament of Harriet E. Reeve, of the County of Orange, and State of New York - I Harriet E Reeve considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of sound mind and memory (blessed be almighty God for the same), do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following.
First I order and direct my executor hereinafter named to pay all my just debts and my funeral expenses and to erect suitable gravestones to my grave
I give and bequeath to my brother Wickham C. Reeve my six chairs, large table, small looking glass, and bedstead, I give and bequeath to Cornelia wife of my brother Wickham C Reeve, my large white cape dress shalve - I give and bequeath to my sister Mary M. VanEttan, all the remainder of my wearing apparel all of my bed clothes bed and bedding, all of my silver ware my gold safety chain, and all my jewelry, my sideboard my stand, my trunk, my carpet, my large looking glass, my rocking chair, all of my books and pictures, and all my dishes and table clothes. All the residue and remainder of my property I hereby empower and direct my executors to convert into cash and I give and bequeath it as follows, I give to my sister Sally Jane wife of Schuyler P. Tyron, fifty dollars. I give and bequeath to my sister Mary M VanElton the one half of the remainder of my property and the other half I give and bequeath to my three brothers William L. Reeve, Wickham C. Reeve, and Isaac Nelson Reeve, to be equally divided between them.
And I do hereby constitute and appoint my brother William L. Reeve, sole executor of this my last Will and testament; hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty third day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one.

The above instrument consisting of one sheet was now here subscribed by Harriet E. Reeve, the testator in the presence of each of us, and was at the same time declared by her to be her last Will and Testament, and we at her request, sign our names hereto as attesting witnesses
Horton Corwin, residing in the town of Mount Hope
Geo E Putney residing in the town of Wallkill

Whereupon I the Surrogate aforesaid, upon the proofs aforesaid, being satisfied of the genuineness and validity of the said will as a will of personal estate, do thereupon order, that the same be admitted to probate and recorded, and that letters testamentary thereon be granted to William L. Reeve, the executor named in the said will, he first taken the oath or affirmation required of him by Law.
