Transcript

Know all Men by these presents that I Solomon Reeves, Sen. of Union Tp, County of Warren and State of Iowa, being in good health and of Sound and disposing mind and Memory, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament, hereby Revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore Made.

And as to My Worldly Estate and all the Real Property of Which I shall be entitled to or Which I shall die Seized and possessed of or have in My possession at the time of My decease, I devise and bequeath and dispose thereof in the manner following To Wit,

My Will is that all My Just debts and funeral Expenses shall by my Executor or Administrator be paid out of My personal Estate as soon after My decease as Shall by them be found convenient. I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth Reeves the use improvement and income of all my Real Estate that I may be lawfully seized of at the time of My decease, to have and to hold the same to her for and during the term of her Natural life. After the decease of My beloved Wife Elizabeth Reeves in case she shall outlive me

I give devise and bequeath unto Lucinda Irwin, adopted daughter of Mine Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars, to be paid out of My Real Estate, at the time of her Marriage, provided her Marriage shall take place after My decease, as May be found convenient by My two Sons herein named, Levi Reeves and Solomon Reeves Jr. Not to defer the Payment of the above named amount to her to Exceed 12 months. After My decease, and the decease of My beloved Wife, all the Rest and Residue of my Real Estate of which I shall die Seized and possessed, or to Which I shall be entitled to at My decease, I give devise and bequeath to be Equally divided between and among my two Sons, Levi Reeves and Solomon Reeves Jr.

In testimony Whereof I the said Solomon Reeves Sen. have to this my last Will and testament contained on this one Sheet of Paper and to this Sheet I have Subscribed My name and affixed My Seal this 19th day of July, in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy one.

Sighed Sealed and delivered by the said Solomon Reeves Sen. as and for his last Will and testament in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as Witnesses thereto.

I J E Lucas clerk of the Circuit Court of the State of Iowa in and for Warren County hereby certify that the foregoing Instrument in writing, purporting to be the last Will and testament of Solomon Reeves Sen, decd Was by the said Court on the 10th day of October 1876 duly allowed and admitted to Probate as his last Will and testament, according to law.

In testimony Whereof I hereunto set My hand and affix the seal of Said Court at Indianola this 1st Day of December 1876.
