The State of Alabama  }   To the Honorable Hiram M. Evans, Judge
Clay County                 }   of the Court of Probate of Said County;
The Petition of Wiley Reeves, Respectfully represents unto your Honor, that the late Loftin Reeves, who was an inhabitant of this county at the time of his death, departed this life on the 21st day of November A.D. 1879, in the County of Clay and State of Alabama, leaving assets therein , and leaving a last Will and testament duly Signed and Published by him, and attested by Chesley Driggers, John T. Luker and W. E. Sanders who resides in the Same State and County. That your Petitioner is an heir and interested in the estate of said decedent, which Said Will is herewith produced to your Honor, and propounded for Probate and record in this Court. Your Petitioner further States that the Widow of Said decedent is Mrs. Elizabeth Reeves, who resides in this County and her post office is Lineville, Alabama, And that the next of Kin of said decedent are his children, to wit; Wiley Reeves, who is over 21 years of age and resides in this county _ and his post office is Lineville Alabama _ Arminda A. Johnson, wife of James Johnson who resides in this county and is over 21 years of age and her post office is Lineville Alabama, Malinda Hall, who is over 21 years of age, and resides in Chambers County Ala. and her post office is Fredonia Alabama, A. J. Reeves, who is over 21 y ears of age, and reside in Talledega County, Alabama, and his post office is Mumford Alabama, James M. Reeves who is over 21 years of age, and reside in Talledega County, Alabama, and his post office is Mumford Alabama. Matilda Morris, wife of Dempsey Morris who is over 21 years of age and reside in Penola County, Texas, and her post office is (blank in original), Louisa Perry, wife of John O. Perry who is over 21 years of age, and reside in Walton County, Georgia, and her post office is Monroe Georgia.
In consideration of all which, your petitioner pray that a day may be set for the hearing of the matter of this Petition, that Subpoenas may be issued to bring in said Subscribing witnesses to testify, on Such appointed day, that due notice of this application may be given to the said Widow and next of Kin of Said deceased, and that Such other proceedings, orders and decrees may be had and made in the premises as may be requisite and proper to effect the due Probate and record of said will according to law And as in duty bound, Your Petitioner will ever pay &c.
