Newbury, Berkshire
Location
Newbury is an Ancient Parish and Borough located in the extreme south of Berkshire. It is approximately twenty-five miles north of Winchester, Hampshire, twenty miles to the east of Marlborough, Worcestershire and 18 miles west of Reading. The River Kennet flow through the town towards Reading, where it merges with the River Thames. "A History of the County of Berkshire: Volume 4" (pub 1924) notes the pre-1812 registers as follow(i) baptisms, marriages and burials from 1538 to 1634;

(x) baptisms and
(xi) marriages for the same period.
