Bethersden, Kent

Location

Bethersden is an ancient parish, split between the hundreds of Chart and Longbridge. It sits within the Weald in the south east of the County of Kent. It is approximately six miles west of Ashford and Canterbury is about twenty miles to the north east. The county town of Maidstone is about seventeen miles to the north west. The port of Rye in the neighbouring County of Sussex is fifteen miles to the south and Folkestone about twenty miles to the east.

Adjacent (Pre 1832) Parishes

To the east of Bethersden lie the parishes of Great Chart and Shadoxhurst. To the south is Woodchurch and High Halden. To the west lies the parish of Smarden and to the north is Pluckley.
