Sherston Magna with Sherston Prava, Wiltshire
Location
Sherston is located in te extreme north west of Wiltshire, approximately five miles to the west of Malmesbury and six miles SW of Tetbury, Gloucestershire. It is on the northern bank of the River Avon, at a point where two major streams merge. It seems Sherston is not included within the volumes of the Victorian County History of Wiltshire.FamilySearch Maps notes "Sherston Magna with Sherston Parva is an Ecclesiastical Parish in the county of Wiltshire, created by 1640 from Sherston Magna Ancient Parish and Sherston Parva Ancient Parish"

Adjacent (pre 1832) Parishes
To the north east of the major portion of the parish is Westonbirt, Gloucestershire and Easton Grey, Wiltshire. To the south east, following the line of the Roman road, The Fosse Way, is Foxley, Norton and Hullavington. Alderton lies to the south, whilst Luckington lies to the south west and it alone separates the main parish area from its detached portion. To the west lies Sopworth and Didmarton with Oldbury on the Hills, Gloucestershire. To the north is a detached portion of Hawkesbury, Gloucestershire.A detached portion of the parish lies a short distance to the west of the main parish area. The east and south of the detached portion is bounded by Luckington, Wiltshire, to the west lies the main portion of Hawkesbury, Gloucestershire and Sopworth, Wiltshire is to the north.
