Narrative

Martha is only found in the 1850 census in the household of her mother, Nancy and her second husband James Alderson. The children of Nancy's first marriage to John May are incorrectly listed as Alderson or Allison in that census.

By the 1860 census, her mother Nancy appears to be a widow for she is the head of household. Martha is not listed in Nancy's home in that census so she had presumably married.
