As of 1870 Acey was living in Birch Creek Halifax Va with his wife, their one child and his sister in law. He was a farm laborer. He is listed on the marriage records for 2 of his 4 children as simply A. Reaves. One for Charles Reaves and one for Sallie Reaves. No other information is known about him.

Research Notes

The identity of Acey Reaves has been uncertain until recently discovered marriage records from Caswell County, North Carolina identified the parents of Asa Reaves who married Nancy Nichols as George K. and Sarah (R) Reaves. George K. Reaves and Sarah Lacey's son was listed as only George A. Reaves in the 1850 census.
