James Reavis first bought land in Cherokee County, Georgia in 1836. He first bought 40 acres from Truman Kellogg of Litchfield, Connecticut (C, p72). He then bought Section 2, tract 483 of Cherokee County for $100 from John Honea (C, p72).
In 1838, James Reavis and Abraham Deavers as trustees of Boiling Spring Church bought some land for the church (C, p459).
