Narrative

Various Reavis family sites list the date of birth of Lewis W. Reavis as after 1818; however, the 1830 census of Williamson County, TN gives his age as 20-29 which would be 1801 to 1810 and had one female child under 5 years old which would be consistent with his marriage to Osia Jordan ain 1828..

The census indicates that Lewis had one son and two daughters by 1840. Although he doesn't seem to be listed on the 1850 census, there is a marriage record for Lewis W. Rives in Rutherford in 1850.

Louis B. Reavis is believed to be the son of Lewis W. Revis. The Y-DNA of a descendant of Louis B. Revis does establish that he descends from this family.
