Benjamin Reeve, of New Lyme, died on the 13th, aged 93 years. He had been in good standing with the Masonic Order for 72 years and was buried with Masonic honors. Services at the Greenville Baptist church on Sunday. Though the day was stormy the attendance was large. Sermon by Rev. R. Crane, from Trumball county, from the words, "What is man that thou art mindful of him?" Many of the Masonic Order were in attendance from distant lodges, their number was quite large. Mr. Reeves emigrated to New Lyme in 1821, and was one of the nine members at the organization of the free-will Baptist church. In 1826 he was its first deacon and first delegate to a quarterly meeting. From that church his occupation was that of a farmer, and was at his death believed to be the oldest Free-mason in this State. At ninety years of age he attended the old folks meeting in New Lyme, and was led on to the stand by the writer. He retained a fair state of health until near his end which might have been hastened by a fall.
