From Early history of the town of Hopkinton:
Erastus Reeve lived on the north side and in a house which stood where the Baptist parsonage now stands, and died there. He had quite a family of boys, Benjamin, Champion J., Stephen, Tapping, Charles J. and Sheldon, all of whom after a time went west, except Benjamin, who settled near Beechertown in Stockholm.


This book also contains excerpts of the diary of Elisha Risdon which included the following items of interest:
  • 1832. December 1. Champin J. Reeve begins work for me for one year at $11 per month. He is to have $32 out of the store and such things as we have to spare out of the house; $47 in grain in the month of June, 1833. Paid him $53 in a pair of three-year-old steers.
  • 1833. June 1. Benjamin Reeve here to-day.
  • 1839. March 30th. Esq. Reeve has the rheumatism.
  • 1839. April 20th. Esq. Reeve is no better.
  • 1839. May 15th. Esq. Reeve is failing.
  • 1839. May 20th. Esq. Reeve died to-day.
  • 1839. May 22d. At the funeral Erastus Reeve, sermon by Elder Green, Sr.
  • 1839. Juen 4th. Champin Reeve and his wife here, brought their babe, a son of eleven months, as fine a boy as I ever saw. His name is Elisha Risdon, after myself
