GEORGE WASHINGTON REEVE, one of the old settlers of Noble Township, was born in Mason County, Ky., February 24, 1821. His father, Elder Benjamin F. Reeve, was born in Prince William County, Va., October 28, 1798. At an early date he came to Kentucky with his parents, and there remained until 1833, when he removed to Rush County, Ind., and settled in Noble Township. He was twice married, his last wife was Miss Elizabeth Lower, who is now deceased. He was formerly a Whig, but afterward a Republican, and for three years represented Rush County in the State Assembly. He began preaching in 1832, and continued until death, he dying July 18, 1877. The immediate subject of this biography, is the eldest of eight children, six of whom are now living. He received a good education. In 1852, he settled on his present farm which consists of 240 acres; he also has 240 aeres in Iowa. He was married March 15, 1843, to Miss Naomi A. Robinson, born in Hamilton County, Ohio, October 15, 1820; She is the daughter of William C. and Frances (Walton) Robinson, the former born in Kentucky and the latter born in Virginia. They were the parents of the following children: Albert G., born November 23, 1848; Anna E., born February 16, 1851, and Minnie M., born April 11, 1861. Mrs. Reeve died July 2 5, 1887. She was extensively known and beloved by all who knew her. Mr. Reeve is a Republican, and for many years has taken an active part in the Rush County Agricultural Association.

The Rushville Republican, 20 Dec 1898
Geo. W. Reeve Dead.
This well known citizen died last Saturday afternoon, at the old place in Noble township which had been his home since 1852. He had been tailing for more than a year, and at one o’clock had a paralytic stroke, dying an hour later.
George W. Reeve was born in Mason county, Ky., Feb. 24, 1821, and was the son of Elder B. F. Reeve and wife, who removed to Noble township early in 1883. He was married to Naomi, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. C. Robinson, early settlers of that township, in 1844. They had eight children, of whom only Albert G. Reeve and Mrs. Daniel F. Spivey are living. Mr. Reeve was an industrious and upright man, and lived a useful and successful life. He took a friendly interest in the people around him, and has long been prominent in the affairs of Rush county. He was one of the organizers of the county fair and the old settlers’ meetings, holding responsible positions in them; he was President of the Farmers’ Club from its organization until this year, and was an active spirit in the Milroy May meetings. His friendly face and voice will be missed at all these gatherings. He belonged to the Christian church and to the Republican party. He was widely known and will be sincerely mourned.
The funeral services were conducted yesterday afternoon in Little Flatrock church to which he had belonged the greater part of his life. Rev. A. B. Houze officiating, and the burial was in the graveyard adjoining, beside his wife and children. The day was wet and bad, but many of his old neighbors and friends gathered in to pay the last tribute of respect to his memory.
