This John Reeve was from New York and appears to be the same John Flavel Reeve, son of Isaac T. Reeve, baptized at the Mattituck Presbyterian Church on 15 Mar 1801. His line is covered in the book ''Study of the Reeve Family of Long Island NY."

The friends of the family are invited to attend his funeral at his late residence, 258 Ninth street, between M and N streets, on Saturday, October 2, at 3 o'clock, p. m.

The 1870 mortality schedule notes he was born in New York and was a clerk.
