Selah Reeve of Southold wrote his will on 17 Dec 1843 and it was proved 8 Jan 1844. He mentions children Mary Jane, Sarah Mariah, Isaac, Daniel Wells, Tuthill, James Harvy and Charles Henry.
Son Isaac's marriage record to second wife Sophia gives the mother's name as Charity Wells.
Probate records indicate that the following obtained guardians and seem to be children of Selah, although not stated:
- Mary Jane Reeve (aged 15 on 5 Mar 1844) nominated Israel Hanning? guardian
- James Harvey Reeve (aged 12 on 13 May 1844) obtained John F Hallock guardian
- Sarah Maria Reeve (aged 8 in June 1844) obtained John Wells guardian
- Charles Henry Reeve (aged 5 years in Apr 1843 or 1844) obtained Isaac Reeve guardian
