The History of Orange County, New York, published in 1881, states:
The original homestead of (1) James Reeve, purchased in 1768, still remains in the family, being now occupied by his grandson. Wickham C. Reeve, one of the sons of Isaac. This land originally cost James Reeve, Sr., about $1.25 per acre. It is now valued with its improvements at about $100 per acre.

Mr. Wickham C. Reeve, a life long resident and farmer of the town of Wawayanda, died at his home at an early hour on Wednesday last. His age was 70 years and six months, and his death was caused by strangulated hernia. Deceased was a son of Isaac Reeve, and lived all his life upon the farm where he died. His father and also his grandfather, James Reeve, lived upon this farm before him. The other children of Isaac Reeve, brothers and sisters of deceased, now living, are William L. Reeve of Winterton; Isaac N. Reeve, of Brick Church, Sussex Co., N. J., and Mrs. Polly Tryon, of near Middletown. Several more of this branch of the family have died in recent years.

Wickham C. Reeve and Miss Cornelia Everson, sister of Mr. Geo. L. Everson, of Middletown, were married about the year 1842. The children born to them were James, who is at present engaged in the transportation of cattle between this country and England, and Sarah, who was the wife of Leroy Judd. She died several years ago.

The subject of this sketch had a wide circle of friends who will sincerely mourn his death. He was a kind husband and father, and was highly respected as a neighbor and as a good citizen. The funeral was held from his late residence on Friday afternoon and was very largely attended. Interment at Hillside Cemetery, Middletown.
