William, Minerva, and Henry have birth records in the Kentucky Births and Christenings collection (FamilySearch).

According to a Civil War Service Record for Absalom Reeves, he was apparently a prisoner during the war as he was exchanged sometime in 1863. A noted dated 13 Apr 1863 states "Absalom Reeves 1st Kentucky Comp D. Arrested in Graves Co Kentucky Mar 1st '63." A later note from an examination states "A Reeves Captured - Prvt with Col Cox. In arms once - Never took the oath and does not want to - wants to be exchanged." This was dated 14 Apr 1863. The statement also says that he was being held prisoner at Gratiot Street Prison, St. Louis, Missouri. His age was 38, he lived in Graves County, Kentucky, but was born in Bedford County Tennessee. He was captured in Graves County Kentucky on ar about the 3rd day of March 1863. Stated that he had been in the Confederate service under Capt Nannas Company, Col. Cox's Regiment (1st Kentucky). He had been engaged in the battles of Shiloh, Perrysville, Mumfordsville, and Murfreesboro.

The Bourbon News, 19 May 1914, carried an article about Thomas Burnett McGregor which mentions that his mother "bore the maiden name of Mary J. Reeves. She was born in Graves county, Kentucky, the daughter of Alp Reeves, a brave Confederate soldier who was killed in a battle of the Civil War."
