Benjamin Reeves taught in the southern portion of Richland township in Monroe County, Indiana in 1823-24.¹ According to the book Echoes from One-Room Schools: Monroe County Indiana, the school building was a log cabin.

In an 1846 deed from Mason County, Kentucky, "Benjamin Reeves of the County of Monroe and State of Indiana" sold his part of the "farm of my late father Austin Smith Reeves, Deceased" to his brother John Reeves of Cincinnati.

According to the biography of Benjamin's son Austin B. Reeves, he and Nancy had 11 children - 9 sons and 2 daughters; however, there are currently no probate records or other documentation to detail those children's identities.
