The Huron Herald, 11 Mar 1915
D. W. Reeves, an old settler died at his home in Everest, yesterday of cancer of the stomach, after an illness of about seven weeks.
Mr. Reeves would have been 72 years old had he lived until next month. He was born in Indiana and first came to Kansas about forty-nine years ago and settled near Seneca and after living there several years moved to Iowa. He returned to Kansas about 1892 and lived in a farm northwest of Huron. Two years ago he moved to Everest, buying the harness shop, which business he conducted until about ten days ago when he sold it to his son, Alfred.
He is survived by his wife, nine sons and one daughter.
The funeral will be held tomorrow and burial made in the Old Huron cemetery.
