Elizabeth Reeves' husband, Fielding Parrish, died in 1830, leaving the following noncupative will:
Kentucky State, Madison County, October 7th 1830
Mr. Fielding Parish of said County on yesterday the 6th instant departed this life without any written will or Testament as we know of and called on us as witnesses how he wishes his property disposed of which we state was in the following manner,
First, he wanted all his debts paid and all his property sold after anything his wife did not stand in need of and all the household furniture and all the stock ----- as she wanted or in the opinion of William Parish and Wesley Parish she needed was to belong to Elizabeth Parish his wife her natural life or widowhood, and if she marries to have her part and all the rest of the property he wishes to be appropriated to the benefit of his children to raise them and school them to be under the direction and management of the two above named Parishes and he wished his children all kept together.
And we furthermore state that at the time of his making of this statement we believe he was in his sound mind but weak in body and these word or words to the import he stated to us in his last sickness the day he departed this life. In testimony whereof we have signed this instrument the day and date above written.
