The WWII Draft Card (3734) from 1940 states that "Gerel" Gerland Reeves of Banning, Carrol County, Georgia, was born in Carrol County on 9 Dec 1918. His wife was listed as Mrs. Sara Margaret Reeves. The marriage record lists her name as Margaret Dewberry. She was the daughter of Tilman F. and Ola Dewberry and was born in Newnan, Georgia.

Garland and Margaret apparently divorced as she was remarried to Raymond N. Dickey by 1950 when they were found living in Lake Benton, Minnesota. In the household are Raymond's step-children "Geral" B. Reeves (9) and Anthony M. Reeves (7).

Margaret died 27 Oct 2002 in Monticello, Minnesota and was buried in the Worthington Memorial Gardens, Worthington, Minnesota.

Social Security Applications and Claims Index states that his parents were Lee W Reeves and Mary A Arthur. The marriage record to Lucy also states his parents were L. W. Reeves and Mary Annie Arthur. It states he was born in Bowdon, Georgia on 9 Dec 1918.

Lucy died 10 Apr 2003 and was buried in Forest Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama.
