Child of Henry Reeves and Susan Walton Thomas:

1. Mary Elizabeth Reeves, born 25 March 1907, Troup Co., GA. She was teacher and librarian at Hill Street Junior High in LaGrange, GA from 1939 to 1972. She lived at the family residence, 303 N. Lewis Street, until her death.
2. Henry R. Reeves, Jr., born 16 May 1910, Troup Co., GA He was of London, England, in 1954 and of Wilmington, Delaware, in 1969. He married Marion Richards Murphy.
3. Walton Thomas Reeves, born 25 March 1913, Troup Co., GA. He was of Mobile, Alabama, in 1954 and 1969. He married Anne Elizabeth Henderson.

Judge Henry Reeves was a prominent Troup County resident; he was known as "Colonel Reeves" and "Squire Reeves. Judge and Mrs. Reeves met at Warm Springs Camp Grounds, at which time he was a guest of the Crowder family and she of the Partidge family. They had a long, happy marriage that produced several prominent residents of Troup County, Georgia. Judge Reeves was a teacher, attorney, and, later, judge of the LaGrange City Court. Mrs. Reeves was a member and, in 1919, President of the LaGrange Chapter No. 121, United Daughters of the Confederacy. Judge Reeves's 1954 obituary indicates that "He taught in the schools of Harris and Troup Counties from 1885 to 1898 and came to LaGrange in 1901 to practice law. He served as solicitor in 1934, and judge of City Court from 1903 to 1916, as county attorney from 1924 to 1953. He was also attorney for Hogansville Federal Savings and Loan Association. He was mayor of LaGrange from 1916 to 1918 and a member of the Board of Education for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a teacher in the Sunday School for more than 50 years." Susan's 1969 obituary noted that she was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was past president of the LaGrange Women's Club and of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Mary Elizabeth Reeves, Reeves and Allied Families, includes many documents regarding her parents and their lives, as does My Ninetieth Birthday Celebration. Among these are school exercises, graduation invitations, and college items. Judge Reeves was licensed as a teacher in Troup County in 1899. Later items include newspaper articles, professional records, and obituaries.
