Research Notes

It is noteworthy that Richard Banks, husband of Karrenhappuch Hooker, presumed to be the sister of Nancy Hooker, had relocated to Wilson County, Tennessee from Wake County, North Carolina at approximately the same time that Hooker and a John Reeves are found in Wilson County. Additionally, Richard Banks was the next neighbor of Jonathan Reeves in Wake County in the area of the Fish Dam along the Neuse River.

Jonathan Reves was security for the 1789 marriage of Ruth Banks, daughter of Richard Banks and Karrenhappuch Hooker, to Willis Jones in Wake County.¹ When another daughter of Richard Banks, Sally, had married Garland McAlester on 1 Jun 1784, in Granville County, William Reeves was the bondsman and John Minor a witness.²

In the 1830 census of Smith County, Tennessee, Hooker Reeves is also living in close proximity to Willis Jones, son of Ruth Banks and Willis Jones.
