Research Notes
(1) Although James's death certificate gives his mother's name as "Lumrira Axsiom," that actually was his wife's name as given by both the marriage record from Monroe County and a Social Security claim application by son Alexander Reeves.(2) Trees online have often confused this James H. Reeves with James Albert Reeves, son of Asa Reeves and Lucinda Joslen, who was a famous local Civil War veteran. However, a later article clearly established that other James as the son of Asa and Lucinda through a reference to his brother and father.
