Dallas Reeves, Columbus, Ind., Former Citizen of Knightstown, Passes Away at The Age of 77 Years After Eventful Life.
J. N. D. Reeves, aged 77 years, retired president of the Reeves Machinery Manufacturing Company at Columbus, Ind., died November 10 at his home in Plainsfield. The funeral and interment took place at Indianapolis the following Saturday. Deceased was believed to be in good health until a month ago.
While years ago he was a resident of Knightstown, being the youngest son of the late Jabez Reeves, most of his life was spent at Columbus, Plainsfield being only his temporary home. Mr. Reeves was well known to the business men of Indiana, and when he lived here he was familiarly known as Dallas Reevs (sic). He is survived by the widow and one son, L. A. Reeves, who resides in Indianapolis. His brothers - William, Benton and Milton - have all passed on before. About fifty years ago the Reeves Brothers were in business here and manufactured corn cultivators and other farm tools. They moved to Columbus and afterwards the Reeves Manufacturing concern gained world wide fame. Deceased was a cousin of the late Mrs. Asa B. Reddick, this city.
