Narrative

Children of James W. Reeves and Sarah Bogan:
  1. Amelia "Annie" Reeves, b. 13 May 1901, m. James W. Sharp on 13 Dec 1917
  2. William Thomas Reeves, b. 1903
There is very little documentation of James W. Reeves, listed as simply J. W. Reeves in marriage records. Prior to his marriage to Sallie Bogan, in 1892 he had married Lula Smith who appears to have died soon after. On their marriage certificate, it states he was 20 and she was 16. It also states the parents of Lula were deceased and there was no objections to the marriage by her relations.

In a Chancery Court Decree from 8 Jul 1897, in the case Lula Reaves vs. J. W. Reaves, it was decreed that the couple were to be divorced.

He then married Sallie Bogan on 11 Jan 1898 in Winthrop, Little River, Arkansas.

He appears to have been deceased before 1904 when, as Sallie Reeves, his widow married John W. Sharp on 26 June 1904 in Little River County, Arkansas. The children above are listed with the name Sharp, the surname of their step-father on the 1910 Census of Little River County, Arkansas

Sarah Bogan Reeves Sharp died before 1915 according to information posted to Find A Grave. After Sarah's death John W. Sharp married Minnie Tallant on 8 Aug 1915 in Arkansas. They divorced and he then married Sarah's daughter Emelia. John W. Sharp married 17 year old Emelia "Annie" Reeves on 13 Dec 1917. The household of John W. Sharp of Kirk, McCurtain County, Oklahoma in the 1920 census lists the same children that were in his household in the 1910 census with the exception of William Thomas Reeves.
