John Reeves first appeared on the tax lists of Madison County KY in 1816 and was taxed for one horse. He was presumably 21 years of age at that time, however, in census listings his age varies from born 1800, 1790, and 1791. He had not been listed in previous years and it is most probable that his correct age is circa 1795.
