By 1860, John's wife Elizabeth with Albert and Ira Ann Reeves are found in the census of Newton County, Arkansas living a few residences away from her daughters Jincy Reeves Villines and Jane Reeves Goodnight, indicating that John was probably deceased by that time.

Research Notes

As with other children, there is no documentation of the child Maria Reeves Goodnight beyond proximity, connection to the same Goodnight family into which her siblings married and matching autosomal DNA of descendants. However, based upon research of the available records, Maria appears to belong to this family.
