Research Notes
Frances Ellen Duty appears to be the widow of B. J. Duty. The Duty family was living in neighboring Bowie County, Texas in 1860 with children Jane (age 3) and Richard (age 1). In 1870, a Jennie or Jemimie (age 13) and Richard (age 10) are listed in the Reeves household.Given his earlier location in Henry County, Georgia and his birthplace of South Carolina, he is probably part of the extended Reeves family that moved from Pendleton County, South Carolina to Georgia. Isaac Newton Reeves was also in Henry County, Georgia in 1840. Note that this is not the same as John B. Reeves from Butts and Carroll Counties in Georgia who also went to Texas.
