Nutty (or Netty) Louisa Reeves probably named for her great-grandmother, Nuttey White Reeve. She was the last child of Redden and Cynthia Reeves and her mother probably died in childbirth with her, or shortly thereafter, as Redden remarried on Christmas Day that same year to his wife's brother's widow, Ann French Reeves. Ann was also recently widowed and the combined household consisted of 13 children, who were first cousins as well as step-siblings. Ann and Redden had 8 children together, who were the first cousins of their half-siblings on both sides. Nuttey began receiving draws against her mother's estate in about 1853 and continued to do so until she married, at 15, to Wiley Perry Slaton. She was also a named heir in the estate of her grandfather, George Washington Reeve.

Nuttey died sometime between the 1880 census and 1890, when Wiley Perry Slaton remarried to Louisa J. Shipp.
