The youngest daughter, previously believed to be named Paulina, was actually Ora Maude, who, in the 1870 census, was incorrectly listed in household of Peter M. Reves as "Paulina" age 15 years. When estate records for Peter M. Reves became available, it was possible to correctly identify her as Ora Maude Reves, wife of James B. Coates. The census enumerator incorrectly listed her as Paulina apparently confusing her with her sister, Lucy Pauline Reves, born 1845.

Peter M. Reeves' 1876 will mentions his "children" but does not name them; however, the Halifax County Chancery Court file includes a division of his real property which lists all the children along with the spouses of married daughters.

Peter M. Reves continued to spell his name REVES as had the prior generations of this family.

Peter's name appears to have been Peter May Reves as was his son's whose full name is always written Peter May Reves, Jr. In a piece of correspondence from the Halifax County VA Chancery Court Case among the heirs of his father, Peter Reves, his nephew William H. Reeves, son of William T. Reves, deceased, refers to him as "Uncle May".
