1850 census for Dist 2, Augusta, Virginia list Robert Franklin Reeves as an 8 year old w/m living with his parents, William Reeves and Elizabeth Wine. His father is a saddler, a skilled craftsman who made and repaired leather goods used for riding horses and driving carriages.

1860 census list Robert as a 17 year old w/m living with his mother, Eliza and brother, Thomas. Eliza is shown as head of house. This may indicate that William died between Aug 1850 and Jul 1860. Living close by is Peachy Harrison Reeves, older brother to Robert.

1866- West Virginia, U.S., Compiled Marriage Records, 1863-1900 indicates that on 24 Dec 1866, Robert F Reeves married Lydia Louise Strahan in the County of Ritchie, State of West Virginia.

1870 census list R.F Reeves as a w/m 28 years old, married c 1868, and works on the railroad. He has two children, William T Reeves, born 1868 and Maryetta Reeves, born 1869. He is living in Grant, Ritchie, West Virginia.

By the time the 1880 census was taken Robert F had moved his family to Lower Turkeyfoot, Somerset, Pennsylvania. He is working as a laborer.

1900 census reveals that Robert F Reeves is living in Upper Turkeyfoot, Somerset, Pennsylvania with his wife of thirty-three years and four of his children.

1908- Pennsylvania, U.S., Veterans Burial Cards, 1777-2012 show the death date of Robert Franklin Reeves to be 16 Jan 1908, that he served in the Army during the U.S. Civil War and is buried in Ursina Cemetery, Ursina, Somerset, Pennsylvania.
