Benjamin Andrew Rives, born April 8, 1873, went west to Missouri in 1896 to seek his fortune, and was married in Kansas City, December 26, 1904, to Sarah Jane Ford. They moved to Pendleton, Oregon, where Mrs. Rives died December 1, 1914. Her husband returned to Georgia in 1915, where he died July 21, 1917, leaving two children for whom their aunt, Miss Amanda Rives, was appointed guardian, and who writes that "they are more precious to me than anyone else on earth."
