Mansfield, La., March 1. - The remains of Mr. Green Rives, who died here on Saturday last, were laid to rest in the cemetery Sunday morning in the presence of a large number of friends and relatives.

We are sorry to learn that Mr. Green Rives, late of Grant parish died at Old River, in Natchitoches parish, Feb. 26th. He was prominent as a lumberman in this section.

Mrs. Jessie D. Rives Dies Early Friday At Mansfield Home
Mansfield. — Mrs. Jessie Durham Rives, 87, died early Friday morning after a long illness. She was the widow of the late Green Rives prominent DeSoto parish lumberman, who passed away 47 years ago. She was born in this parish Feb. 14, 1858, the daughter of Dr. C. H. and Elizabeth Smith Durham, who were among the earliest settlers in this section.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock from the late resident, with Dr. M. E. Dodd of Shreveport ana Dr. O. L. Powers of Jonesboro, Ark a former pastor here, officiating. Interment will be in Mansfield cemetery, under direction of Drewett Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rives is survived by one daughter, Mrs. W. C. Nabors of Mansfield; three sons. Green and Henry Rives of Mansfield and Judson Rives of Dake Charles, and five grandchildren.
