Oakley Beebe Rives, born near Fayette, Illinois, was graduated from the Greenfield High School, and from the College of Agriculture of the University of Illinois (B. A.) in 1910, where he took an active part in athletics and was a member of the University football team. For a number of years he farmed on the homeplace, Thistledown Farm; but since 1926 he has been Lay Inspector, Bureau of Animal Industry, Department of Agriculture, Union Stockyards, Chicago.
