Robert Charles Rives resided at "Cedar Green" and became a planter like the three generations of his family before him. He married "Jan. 28, 1835, Ann Eliza King, at Mr. Miles M. King's" in Dinwiddie, Rev. John Grammer, of Old Saponey Church, officiating and noting in the Bath Parish Register the receipt of $5 from the groom as fee for the ceremony. Mr. Rives died August 16, 1887.

Mr. Robert C. Rives, a venerable and respected citizen of Dinwiddie county, died at Petersburg very suddenly yesterday morning of disease of the heart.
