Uncle Bobby Rives.
Robt. C. Rives, well known as Uncle Bobby, died at the home of his son, J. F. Rives, on the morning of the 22d. He was born in Montgomery County, Tenn., in 1822; moved to Sumner County where at the age of 21 years he was married to Miss Rebecca Cox. They moved to Obion county in 1868 where he has lived ever since. He was a consistent member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church for years, his membership being at Bethlehem at the time of his death. He only liked a few days being 83 years of age. For the last two years he has been totally blind. He was a widower at the time of his death, having been married twice. He leaves three sons and four daughters, of whom there are J. F. Dock, Mrs. Litchford, Mrs. Harpole and Mrs. Jas. Roberts. The funeral services were conducted by his pastor. Rev. P. F. Johnson, at Salem church on the 23d, in the presence of a large audience of relatives and friends, after which the remains were buried at Salem grave yard.
Although his obituary states he was born in Montgomery County, Tennessee, the census states North Carolina.
