From Reliques of the Rives:
(Stephen and Gabrilla) began their married life on a farm near Frankfort, Mo., but returned after a few years to the vicinity of Greenfield. For several years previous to and during the war, Mr. Rives was a commission merchant at the old Union Stockyards in St. Louis, Mo.; but, after the discontinuance of those Yards and the opening of the National Stockyards in East St. Louis, he removed there, continuing his activities as a commission merchant. About 1886 he returned to Greenfield where he purchased 160 acres on the edge of town and where he passed the remainder of his years until his death on October 2, 1897.
Although Reliques states they were married in Bowling Green, Missouri, the record is acutally from Macoupin County, Illinois.
